(QNO) - A conference on investment promotion for Quang Nam province has just been co-organised in Seoul capital (South Korea) by Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee and South Korea Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SASME).

Participants in the event were Vice Chairman of SASME Song Jae-hee, Chairman of SASME in Vietnam Lee Chung Keun; representatives of SASME, South Korea’s businesses, delegation from Quang Nam province led by Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Huynh Khanh Toan.
At the conference, Standing Vice Chairman Toan briefed about Quang Nam province’s socio-economic development, potentials, strengths and opportunities for South Korea’s investors. Quang Nam is located in central Vietnam’s key economic region, a position favourable for connecting to other localities nationwide. The province owns abundant natural resources, two world cultural heritages, a world biosphere reserve zone, cheap labourers, good infrastructure, especially Chu Lai Open Economic Zone. Hopefully, it will be an attractive and trusted destination to South Korea’s businesses.
At present, there are 21 investment projects from South Korea’s businesses with the total registered capital of 214 million USD in the province, especially in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, Tam Thang Industrial Park. Closing the speech, Mr Toan committed to create more favourable conditions for South Korea’s investment in the province in the coming time.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of SASME Song Jae-hee underlined the SASME usually calls for South Korea’s enterprises to Vietnam in general and Quang Nam province in particular thanks to their favourable conditions. However, Mr Song Jae-hee suggested that Quang Nam People’s Committee and the related agencies unbind South Korean enterprises’ difficulties in the locality as soon as possible.
He also said the conference aimed to explain Quang Nam investment attraction policies to South Korea’s investors thoroughly, creating an opportunity for Quang Nam to introduce and advertise itself, to call for South Korean investment. On this occasion, Deputy Head of Management Board of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone Pham An presented in detail the province’s investment attraction mechanisms in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in particular and the province as a whole.
