Partcipants at the workshop affirmed that the role of the community in heritage conservation is very important.

According to Head of UNESCO Office in Hanoi Michael Croft, although the main purpose of recognition of world cultural heritages is not to develop tourism, the title of heritage has made considerable changes in community life, especially in beautiful places like Hoi An and My Son.

At these heritage sites, the local communities are also tourist product because their daily activities contribute to adding values to the destination.
