(QNO) - Deputy Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Loria Steele had a meeting with Quang Nam’s leaders on October 20.

At the meeting, Ms. Loria Steele announced the USAID’s financial assistance to Quang Nam’s Green Annamite project with USD 15 million in the period of 2016-2020. The project centers on forest management, biodiversity conservation and building sustainable communities adapting to climate change.
Deputy Chairman of Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh thanked for the USAID’s support, especially in this time, when the project is going to be deployed. He also expressed a desire to receive more attention and cooperation from the USAID support. On this occasion, Mr. Thanh proposed a number of issues relating to forest protection in association with livelihood development, such as cultivation and multiplication of medicinal plants. It can help to better people's lives and raising public awareness of the biodiversity conservation.

Ms. Loria Steele thanked the provincial leaders for the warm welcome and the favorable conditions for their recent projects. She also hoped that the project Green Annamite would be successful as expected.
