At the meeting, Mr. Huynh Khanh Toan, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee, informed of some Quang Nam’s outstanding achievements after 20 years of its reestablishment. In recent years, Quang Nam has received 10 projects funded by JICA, mainly on maritime forests, rural and mountainous infrastructure and environmental improvement. The total investment capital was USD 30.5 million. The USD11-million project of water environmental improvement (2015-1019) in the Japanese Bridge zone (Hoi An city) is considered the most remarkable. Japan with 12 projects (and a total investment capital of USD 78 million) just goes after Korea and Taiwan of China, where there are the most projects in Quang Nam.
Mr. Toan expected CLAIR to continue helping Quang Nam province call for Japanese investment into Quang Nam.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Tamotsu Okamoto thanked Quang Nam’s leaders for their warm welcome. He promised the linking role of CLAIR between Japanese localities and Quang Nam in investment promotion and exchange of tourism, services and heritage conservation.
