The construction of the bridge and the coastal road with the total investment capital of nearly 5,000 billion VND (220.05 million USD) aims to prevent and reduce natural disasters  in Quang Nam’s coastal region. The bridge with 25.5 m in width and 1.481 km in length links the banks of Thu Bon river (Hoi An city and Duy Xuyen district) to Thang Binh district. Meanwhile, the 24.5 km coastal road runs from Duy Xuyen district to Tam Ky city.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said the bridge and the road are specially significant for local socio-economic development, contributing to protecting national defense security and sovereignty. Besides, according to QPC Chairman Dinh Van Thu, the projects help shorten the route between Quang Nam’s Tam Ky city and Da Nang city, and ease traffic jam on National Highway 1A.
