(QNO) - On August 9, Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Dinh Van Thu played host to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Viet Nam Umeda Kunio in Hoi An city, Quang Nam.
At the meeting, Ambassador Umeda Kunio appreciated Quang Nam and Hoi An leaders' warm welcome when Japanese delegations attended the Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange 2019 in Hoi An from 9-11 August.
According to the Ambassador, the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan has been fostered with good achievements in many fields. Among the countries having the cooperative relationship with Japan, Vietnam has received the highest investment from Japan. It is sured that the investment capital from Japan to Vietnam will increase in the coming years. Japan hopes that more and more the Vietnamese, especially Quang Nam students study and work in Japan. Ambassador Umeda Kunio also expressed his interests in Junko Primary School in Dien Ban town, Japanese language teaching in Quang Nam, environmental protection in Hoi An city, etc. He thanked Quang Nam and Hoi An’s supports for Japanese people who live and work in Hoi An.
According to Chairman Thu, Quang Nam has attracted 18 Japanese investment projects with a total capital of more than 140 million USD and some Japanese aid projects in afforestation, rural transport infrastructure construction, environment, waste treatment, health and education... The cooperative relatuonship between Quang Nam and Japan has been more and more strengthened, which is reflected in the annual cultural exchanges between Quang Nam and Japan.
