Development of sea economy

(QNO) - In a recent working session with leaders of Quang Nam province,  Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Truong Hoa Binh had a direction of focusing on strongly developing the province’s sea economy. Accordingly, the province should have solutions to support credit, vocational training for fishermen, raising the quantity and capacity of fishing ships, income improvement and protection of the national sea and islands sovereignty.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Binh also asked the province to speed up agricultural restructuring and new rural establishment, scientific and technological cooperation and application, plant and domestic animal transfer, suitable crops, aquaculture attached to environment protection. Besides, the province needs to foster administrative reform more to raise the provincial   competitive ability, improve investment climate and attraction strategies, encourage start-ups, develop hi-tech and support industry sustainably, exploit effectively in Hoi An ancient town, Cham islands, traditional craft villages, Cua Dai beach, etc.

In the first 6 months of this year, the provincial GDP growth is 11.7%, higher than that of the same period last year. Export revenue is up 6%; industrial output value rises 12.4%; the number of tourist arrivals up 23%.
