Former Director-General of UNESCO works in Quang Nam

(QNO) - Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee Le Van Thanh welcomed the Japan’s delegation led by Former Director-General of UNESCO Koïchiro Matsuura last week.

At the reception, Mr Koïchiro Matsuura expressed his admiration to the province’s world cultural heritages: Hoi An ancient town and My Son Sanctuary. He also highly appreciated the Vietnam’s central provinces including Quang Nam for their economic development in the last time. He also paid attention to the transportation system for the local socio-economic development, especially the Danang- Hoi An monorail project.

In reply, Vice Chairman Thanh  enthusiastically approved this project and promised to create favourable conditions for the project investors. Based on the strategic relationship between Vietnam and Japan, the relationship between Quang Nam province, Danang city and Japan, he hoped to receive the consultancies and supports from Japan so that  this project  will soon be carried out. The Da Nang- Hoi An monorail will be a  symbol of friendly relationship between Danang, Quang Nam and Japan.
