Hoi An – Japan Culture Exchange Festival 2014


(QNO) - The 12th Cultural Exchange between Hoi An (Quang Nam province) and Japan was hold in Sakai city, Osaka province (Japan) from 18-19 October. It was the first time  Hoi An city coordinated with Sakai and other Japanese cities and agencies to hold this event in Japan, coinciding with the 41st Sakai Festival.

At this event, Hoi An City focused on the typical local features such as  art performances, traditional dance and song, sac bua dance and ba trao song (traditional music), Cham folk art, traditional musical instruments. In addition, the traditional song of the event “Vietnam-Japan friendship song”, bai choi’s game, bamboo dance,  especially Bon dance (Japan), Trong com dance (Viet Nam) were jointly performed by Hoi An and Japan’s artists.

Besides, Hoi An ancient town was presented through Hoi An laterns decorated at the event and through the game “Hoi An Latern Making”. Also at the festival, an exhibition of photos, objects themed “Hoian old and now”, “Cherry blossom flower in Hoi An” aimed at presenting and popularizing Hoi An’s tourism and services.
