(QNO) - The pilot project of using electric cars to transport tourists in Hoi An city has just been approved by the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee (PPC).

These cars are allowed to run in inner Hoi An from 6am to 10pm every day. They must obey traffic rules, ensure traffic safety and protect environment. The project will start on January 1st, 2017.
The Quang Nam PPC asks transport charges to be in public. The cars must be registered and equipped with journey monitoring devices. Their technical safety must be ensured. When the project is put into operation, there should be action reviews every 06 months. The 20th day deadline is applied for monthly reports submitted to Quang Nam Department of Transport. On December 25th, the annual reports of the project results will periodically be sent to the Ministry of Transport and to the Prime Minister.
The Hoi An People's Committee, the Department of Transport and related agencies are responsible for deploying, implementing, managing and inspecting these electric cars’ activities.
