The website described: “The small canals of Hoi An city are combined to become a water rout linking two oceans. They make Hoi An to be a beautiful, attractive and interesting place for sightseeing. This fishing-village-turned-tourist-hotspot is situated on the coast of the South China Sea in Vietnam.
Hoi An was an international commercial port from the 16th to 18th centuries. The heart of the city is still the ancient town, full of winding lanes and Chinese-city styled shop, houses. It is sometimes called the “Venice of Vietnam because of the narrow canals that cut through part of the town.”
