Maritime culture- a motive power for central key economic region development

(QNO) - A national level workshop on maritime cultural heritage for the  central key economic region development was held on March 25th  by the Quang Nam University.

There were 75 reports from domestic scholars, scientists and researchers focusing on 2 main issues: the values of culture, custom, festival in the central coastal region’s  sea and islands of Vietnam; exploiting maritime cultural heritage toward tourism development in the central key economic region.

PhD. Huynh Trong Duong, Rector of Quang Nam University said that, the central key economic region was a place of abundant, lively maritime values and it played an important role in the central growth. However, these values were facing the risk of degradation.  

So, the scholars taking part in this workshop evaluated advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and challenges to give proposals to protect, promote maritime cultural heritage’s values for socio-economic development.
