“Our Common Heritage” exhibition held at My Son Sanctuary Site

The world heritages exhibition  “Our common heritage – Discovering world heritages in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam” was opened on March 29 by UNESCO Office in Viet Nam and Managing Board of My Son sanctuary (Quang Nam province).

This exhibition was the result of  implementing the Capacity raise and co-operation project between 9 museums which relating to 6 world heritages (Ankor Temple , Preah Vihear Temple, Vat Phou Mountain Temple , Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary, Ho Dynasty Citadel and Thang Long Citadel)  in 3 countries above under UNESCO’s co-ordination.. This is one of UNESCO’s activities for marking the 40th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention. Displaying together with 22 posters and items at My Son sanctuary site were photos and articles which selected  and edited by experienced experts in preservation and tradition working on world cultural heritage.

Mr Tran Minh Ca, Vice chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee (PC) said “This exhibition shall meet better the f tourists’ sight seeing, educating Vietnamese young generation on father land love”. He recommended The PC of  Duy Xuyen district, Management Board of My Son Sanctuary Site and Sanctuary and Beauty spots Management Center should co-operate to improve the exhibition room, oftently supplement photos about Indochina’s heritage. He also expected the Department  of  Education and Traning of Duy Xuyen district to use the photos in this exhibition as means to teach young generation about national culture and history.

According to the project, the Management Board of My Son Sanctuary Site shall co-operrate with UNESCO to launch educational activities monthly. After exhibition, these photos  shall be presented to My Son Sanctuary Site.
