Over 11 million Euro for protecting and managing forest

(QNO) - On 18 November, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW) officially signed a government financial agreement on funding the project of protecting and managing forest ecosystems in Quang Nam, Kon Tum and Gia Lai (KfW10). This project will be implemented in 7 years (2014 – 2020) with a total investment of 11.29 million EUR, of which 8 million EUR is from non-refundable ODA capital and 3.29 million EUR from Vietnamese reciprocal capital.

Specifically, this project will aim to sustainably protect and manage 28,110 ha of natural forest for production in Quang Nam, Kon Tum and Gia Lai. It also contributes to natural resources and biodiversity protection; (and) ensures regular stable income for 110 village communities by creating a variety of products from the forest.
