(QNO) - A working session between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs- new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam to Japan Vu Hong Nam and Quang Nam’s leaders has just taken place in Hoi An (Quang Nam province).

Director of the Quang Nam Department of Foreign Affairs Vo Van Hung told the friendly cooperation between Quang Nam (Hoi An included) and some Japanese localities.
Currently, there are 14 Japanese FDI projects in Quang Nam with nearly USD 121 million and an over USD 13-million Vietnam-Japan joint venture one. Besides, the Government of Japan has been funding a lot of ODA projects in Quang Nam with over USD 30 million.
The number of Japanese visitors to Quang Nam reached 30 thousand. The event of Japanese cultural days in Quang Nam took place in several places in Quang Nam on August 17-19.

Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam People’s Committee Le Van Thanh congratulated Mr. Nam on his new position. Mr. Thanh also hoped Mr. Nam to keep in close touch with Quang Nam and help Quang Nam to be twinned with a Japanese industrial province so that two parties could promote the bilateral cooperation in economy, health-care, education and employment.
According to Ambassador Vu Hong Nam, it was a good chance for him to learn more about Quang Nam and the Quang Nam-Japan cooperation. He promised to make every effort to help Quang Nam look for potential partners from Japan.
