Chu Lai Open Economic Zone (OEZ) with five concentrated industrial parks is orientated towards supporting industries for automobile and textile-garment which make Quang Nam remarkable nationwide.

Chu Lai-Truong Hai Auto Mechanical Industrial Park (CTAMIP) with an area of 500ha in Nui Thanh district is the heart of the Chu Lai OEZ. It consists of the CTAMIP, Tam Hiep-Truong Hai and logistics ports under Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO). The CTAMIP with 23 companies is the largest center for automobile mechanics in Vietnam. In the coming time, automobile manufacturing and assembly industry will expectedly become “a magnet bar” attracting investors.

Besides, a lot of large investors invested into the textile and garment sector in central region of Vietnam due to cheap land for rent, good infrastructure, and open mechanism. Tam Thang Industrial Park (Tam Ky city and Thang Binh district) under Chu Lai OEZ is such one. Tam Anh-South Korea’s Industrial Park specializing at textile and garment with the total investment capital of VND 525 billion is under construction in Tam Anh commune (Nui Thanh district, Chu Lai OEZ).

In July, 2015, just after 4 months of operation, Tam Thang Industrial Park welcomed two South Korean large foreign direct investment projects of Panko Textile-Garment Corporation with 70 million USD and Duck San Vina Garment Accessory plant with 10 million USD. This result comes from the provincial advantageous location, comparative land price, preferential policies, and synchronous infrastructure. Quang Nam authority usually creates favourable conditions for investors into the province.
