Thaco ranks the top of VAMA


(QNO) - According to the newest report of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), its total turnover in March 2014 reached 9,313 vehicles (including 6,397 vehicles for tourism, 2,500 ones for business purposes, 616 vans and minibuses). It’s the 12th successive month of turnover increasing comparing with the same previous period.

With the development policies, stable macro-economic index, VAMA expects the automobile business will increase well in coming months. According to a prediction, over 120,000 vehicles will be sold in Vietnam market in this April, about 9 percent increasing comparing with the last year(s).

Thanks to diversification of products including truck, bus, KIA and Mazda vehicles, the total turnover of Thaco automobile company has reached 3,339 vehicles, takes 36 percent of domestic market share and become the lead in automobile market in Vietnam. The Thaco KIA brand name reaches 852 vehicles, takes 9.1% of market share and the 2nd position, just after Toyota brand name and increases about 81 percent comparing with February. The strong development of Thaco was shown in its total turnover in first 3 months of 2014 with 2,174 vehicles sold, increased 33 percent comparing with the same period of 2013. Another automobile brand name Vinamazda of Thaco took the 4th position of domestic market share (7.3 per cent) with 676 vehicles sold.
