(QNO) - The experts of the Institute of Science and Technology ( IST -Ministry of Construction) are invited to find solutions to save the Cham tower B3 of My Son Sanctuary (Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province). According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Huong, Head of My Son Relic and tourism management board (My Son RTMB) many cracks have been found on the body of B3 tower, some of them are 7 cm deep and 4 cm wide. The tower is now leaned toward the southwest at 8 degrees.
In the whole monuments of My Son architectural complex, the B3 tower was hardest hit by bombs during the war and it is now in the highest danger of collapse. Since September 2013, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, IST and My Son RTMB have carried out a survey to save this World's Cultural Heritage. A solution to straightening and building an urgent conservation project for the B3 tower will expectedly be completed on 14th October 2013.
