In 2017, Quang Nam was given a model of a Red-seal ship by Nagasaki Prefecture. This ship was used by traders from Nagasaki to Hoi An commercial port 400 years ago. It was also used to bring Ngoc Hoa princess to Nagasaki-homeland of her husband (Araki Sotaro, a businessman). Nagasaki Prefecture has funded Quang Nam to improve the quality of water in Japanese Bridge, to train human resources and to give chances for Vietnamese apprentices to work in Nagasaki.

In his working visit to Quang Nam, Mr. NIIMI Tatsuya discussed the cooperative directions between Quang Nam and Nagasaki in 2019, including teaching Japanese and setting up tourism development projects in Quang Nam by taking advantage of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
