(QNO) - Archbishop Marek Jalewski- new Vatican’s non-residential representative to Vietnam and his delegation visited Quang Nam on November 26. Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Thu gave them a warm welcome.

At the meeting, Chairman Thu briefly talked about the socio-economic situation and Catholic activities in the province. He also admitted of the great contributions of the laity on the development of Quang Nam. Chairman Thu hoped that Marek Jalewski would be the bridge between local authorities and Christians in order to tighten the solidarity and make Quang Nam more prosperous and civilized.
On behalf of the provincial People's Committee, Chairman Thu gave Archbishop Marek Jalewski the logo of Japanese Bridge - a symbol of Quang Nam province.
Archbishop Marek Jalewski thanked Chairman Thu for his formal reception. Marek Jalewski expressed his joy as Christians were provided with the best conditions for their religious activities and their lives. He also hoped for the better mutual understanding between the Holy See and the local government.
