GEF projects in Hoi An

(QNO) - Recently, 120 representatives from 15 countries- members of Global Environmental Fund (GEF) has experienced the GEF projects in Hoi An City.

4 projects funded by GEF in the city are worth USD 50,000/ project. The biodiversity conservation of water coconuts in Cam Thanh commune and stone crabs in Cham Islands, the improvement in micro-credit management capacity of the community, and waste management are 3 out of 4 projects in Hoi An with practical effects of the community-based environmental conservation. Particularly, the stone crabs conservation project in Cham Island is highly appreciated by environmental experts for its sustainability in creating livelihood for the community.
