JICA assists sustainable development projects in Quang Nam


(QNO) - After nearly 9 years of implementation (2010-2018), the components of the technical cooperation project under the NGO-JICA Partnership Program financed by JICA and Minamiboso city (Japan) have had some achievements, contributing to the development of Quang Nam.

During the implementation of the project (3 phases), Japanese experts went to Quang Nam to consult and share information and experiences. Quang Nam staffs and farmers also attended some practical training courses and surveys in Japan, Thailand, Vinh Long, Da Lat, Hanoi.

Besides, the project has funded basic construction, equipment and machinery. Typical are the Farmers’ Shop in Binh An Rest stop, My Hung clean agricultural cooperative (Thang Binh district), supporting rice paper dryers for Huong Hue cooperative (Binh Tri, Thang Binh) and agro-product dryer for Tien Chau cooperative (Binh Sa, Thang Binh), equipment for Tien Phuoc incense village, showrooms and exhibitions of Quang Nam traditional handicraft products, tourism promotion, etc.

The project is considered to bring with it high practical values. It helps improve the locals’ income, contributing to speeding up the local economic development. Everyone can benefit by the project.

On behalf of Quang Nam leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Tan highly appreciated the results of the project and expressed his desire to continue receiving the support and cooperation from JICA and Minamiboso.

According to JICA Project Director Fumio Kato, the deep relationship between JICA, Minamiboso city and Quang Nam will be better and better in the future.
