In recent years, Cua Dai coastal region of Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) has been being seriously destroyed by landsliding and coastal erosion. Local government, residents and enterprises have spent dozens of billion Vietnam dong building sea dykes to protect Cua Dai Beach, but the sea encroachment still happens more and more seriously to the northwest. Therefore, a meeting on solutions to the erosion at Cua Dai beach was urgently held in Hoi An city on January 9th.

Earlier, leaders of Quang Nam provincial departments and branches had surveyed directly the dykes at Cua Dai beach and learned about the ways of protecting the coastal regions and beaches of Quang Ngai province.

According to Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh, it was necessary to keep calm to find out fit scientific solutions to the serious erosion at Cua Dai beach. Finally, it was approved that a 200m embankment was built in 12m Larsen sheet piles.
