(QNO) - Quang Nam provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recently hold a meeting to get ideas of the 6th Heritage Festival 2017 from tourism, service and media agencies, event organizers inside and outside province before submitting the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.

The 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival will be organized from June 9-16, 2017 as planned with various special culture and arts programmes, sports and tourism activities such as the International Choir Competition, Food Festival, the Vietnam Television International Women’s Volleyball Cup, International Travel Affair, introduction of Cham Islands’ new products…
According to Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dinh Hai, this festival is held every two years to honour specific cultural values of Vietnam in general and of Quang Nam province in particular. It contributes to propagating the images of Vietnam country as well as of the province to domestic and international people to speed up tourism development and attract investment into Quang Nam province. In addition, the festival is a good chance to exchange experiences in heritages management and conservation, in bringing the cultural values into play between domestic localities, between Vietnam and other countries in the world.
Attaching special importance to the effectiveness of the festival
At the meeting, Director of Vietnam’s food event organizing company Trinh Diem Vy said Quang Nam province should pay special attentions to prominent products such as Hoi An swallow’s net, Tra My cinnamon, Tien Phuoc pepper, Cham food in the festival for both cultural values and economic effectiveness. Besides, the province should rethink the time for the festival due to hot weather in June. Mr Tran Luc- Deputy Director of Saigontourist travel agency said series of tourism activities should be added such as a meeting between travel agencies nationwide, famtrips for domestic and foreign travel enterprises, presstrips in some province’s potential destinations.
