Searching for solutions for Chua Cau restoration

A delegation led by Chief Representative of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) in Vietnam Shimizu Akira made a survey at Chua Cau (Japanese Bridge) in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province on December 16.

The survey aimed to look for solutions for Chua Cau restoration.

Talking to Chief Representative of JICA in Vietnam Shimizu Akira, a representative of the Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation mentioned the current serious deterioration of Chua Cau, especially in abutments on Tran Phu and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai streets, the structural system of wood,  bridge beam.

Therefore, it is necessary to consolidate the bridge foundation and replace old beams.

Director of the Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation Pham Phu Ngoc hoped JICA to support Hoi An with Chua Cau restoration after this survey.
