(QNO) - Original architectural features of My Son Sanctuary have been caught by a group of students from Urban Sketchers- DAU (Da Nang University of Architecture).
My Son Sanctuary- a world cultural heritage located in Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province became the first place of 6 composition camps to be held by Urban Sketchers- DAU.
Over 30 students came here to draw their sketches of mystical beauties of the towers and stone statues. This composition camp was considered very significant, contributing to the conservation and promotion of the values of My Son Sanctuary in particular and cultural heritages in general.
The event became more significant when it took place right on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of My Son Sanctuary recognized as a UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage.
According to these sketchers, the mystery and wonders of My Son Sanctuary had been attractive to them. They tried to draw the original architectural features of the towers. However, it was regrettable that the sketches could not express all their souls.
The composition camp happening in the My Son Sanctuary area made visitors interested because they could enjoy the ancient towers here from another aspect, students’ sketches.
Though it was raining during the 2-day event, these students completed their drawing products. An onsite exhibition of 90 sketches took place at My Son Sanctuary.
Some of them were given to or deposited in My Son Sanctuary Management Board. All the money from selling these sketches is offered to the local Community Foundation.
