South Korean Cultural Days in Hoi An city

(QNO) - “South Korean Cultural Days in Hoi An 2017” was organised on 11-12 March by the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee, South  Korea’s Cultural Center and Embassy in Vietnam. The event was a part of the 25th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Vietnam and South Korea (22 December,1992 – 22 December, 2017).

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee Le Van Thanh confirmed the people-to-people exchange between Vietnam and Korea 900 years ago. During 25 years since the diplomatic relations between two countries was built, the two sides are coming into a new development period with the motivities and good prospects. The relationship of partnership and strategic cooperation between South Korea and Vietnam has developed more than ever. It results from the traditional relationship, historic and cultural similarities, economic supports, as well as the common efforts between the two countries.

The relationship between Quang Nam province and South Korean localities such as the provinces of Yongin and Gyeonggi has developed over recent years. The event of “South Korean Cultural Days in Hoi An 2017” in Quang Nam province is a vivid evidence of the Quang Nam-South Korea and Vietnam-South Korea steadfast cooperational relationship.

According to Vice Chairman Thanh, the target of the event was to introduce South Korea’s localities’ and Quang Nam’s cultural features, enhance mutual understanding, tighten the friendship, widen exchange and cooperation between Hoi An city as well as Quang Nam province and South Korea’s localities.

In reply, South Korea’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Vietnam Lee Hyuk said about the long-standing relation between South Korea and Vietnam strengthened more and more in such fields as economy and culture. The festival was also a precious meeting of the people and cultural values between the two nations in general and Quang Nam and South Korea in particular.

On the opening night of 11 March, South Korean and Vietnamese artists performed the special shows such as violin concert, Geomungo, Vietnam’s monochord, non-verbal opera…Earlier, the fashion of Hanbok made of paper, South Korean traditional and contemporary art performances by South Korean artists such as famous group of Sachoom & Bibap were held.  At the same time, An Hoi Sculpture Garden was colourful and sparkling with the exhibition stalls, art and cultural performances, food, Vietnamese and South Korean lanterns…
