Cham Island in rainy season

(QNO) - In recent years, tourism in Cu Lao Cham (Cham Island-Hoi An) is developing rapidly in both visitors and service products. This development creates the stability to the local travel companies, even in rainy season when it seems to be poorly patronized.

According to the statistics from the Hoi An Department of Trade and Tourism, approximately 384 thousand visitors came to Cham Island in the first 10 months of 2015, an increase of 67% compared with the same period last year. They were mainly domestic tourists (over 305 thousand arrivals). Particularly there were more than 13 thousand tourists to the island in October, which is quite “extraordinary” because October is annually often considered the time of low season. Mr. Huynh Kim Ba - Director of Phu Loc Travel Company and many others affirmed climate was the key factor of this change. This year the stormy season comes late.

The statistic results are rather positive; but quite frankly, tourism activities in Cham Island in winter essentially depend on the weather. It is almost impossible to find solutions to this problem. However, in this time, Hoi An is actively reinforcing the service infrastructure, developing new tourism products to serve tourists in this difficult season. According to Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Thuy - Head of Hoi An Trade and Tourism Office, a new tourism product named ‘Walking in the sea’ will be launched in 2016. Besides, the areas of entertainment will be replanned; the products from swallow’s nests, from the sycamore (including sycamore cakes, sycamore seeds, facilities made of sycamore, enjoying sycamore flowers...) are also created more and more. All of them will gradually improve the destination quality, towards meeting the demand of the high-class visitors, reducing the pressure on the natural and social environment in the island, especially branding Cham Island Tourism commensurate with its inherent potentials and advantages.
