(QNO) - The opening ceremony of the Hoi An International Food Festival 2017 was held in Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) on March 22nd with the participation of the Deputy Ambassadors of Sri Lanka and Sweden in Vietnam’s Ha Noi city and Russian Consul General in Da Nang city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Hoi An city’s People’s Committtee and Head of the festival board Nguyen Van Son confirmed the fame of Hoi An city rests on the ancient town- a World Cultural Heritage and the long-standing food culture with many unique and attractive dishes honoured by international magazines and websites.

Over recent years, Hoi An authority and business community have considered food as one of the local advantages to attract tourists.

The event contributes to confirm and propagate the trade name, cultural images of Hoi An tourism to international domestic visitors. It also creates a good chance for experience exchanges between local chefs and international chefs. According to Mr Son, food can light the love of Hoi An land and people in tourists.
