(QNO) - Hoi An City People’s Committee in collaboration with Vietnam Art and Culture Exhibition Centre, UNESCO Centre for Vietnamese Antiques Research and Conservation has displayed the antiques collection of Dong Son - Sa Huynh - Oc Eo culture at 39 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street (Hoi An city, Quang Nam province).
Over 1,000 artifacts were gathered from many areas including many different styles, materials such as ceramics, copper, jewelry items in pre-ancient time. The artifacts of the three ancient cultures help residents and visitors to learn more about the journey of Vietnamese culture. It is known that the Dong Son Culture is the delta and continent culture that belongs to the midlands and plains of the Mã, Cả and Red River basin. Sa Huynh Culture is the coastal culture, urban - port culture located along the Vietnam central coastal strip today, in the basin of Thu Bon and Tra Khuc River. It is also known as Con Bau Culture because it was discovered along the damps in the Central in 1909. The Oc Eo culture lies mainly in the west of Hau River valley of An Giang, Kien Giang, Dong Thap, Can Tho, Bac Lieu ... and an east part of Cambodia.
Mr. Duong Van Quynh, director of the Vietnam Art and Culture Exhibition Center said that this was one of the initial activities for Vietnam Culture Week in Hoi An. The gathering these antiques is the great efforts.
More than 1,000 artifacts in which there are particularly many precious items were about 2,700 years old from the three major cultures collected in Hue, Hanoi and HCMC will have been exhibited till June 26th.
